Quarter 1 2008: Letter from Chapter President Kay Murphy
February 12, 2008
Dear members,
I am sooooo ready for golf season, arent you? I am looking
forward to seeing all of you at the kickoff and out in the sun
very soon.
I wanted to make you aware of what has been going on behind the
scenes on your behalf for the past few months. Your board has
been meeting regularly and focusing on how to make this an
exciting season for all of us. Youve probably seen some of the
Evites coming out already. Sorry to bombard you, but some of the
larger events are requiring very early commitments from us.
The 2008 Kickoff committee has been working for months planning
one of our most important events. Mark your calendars for the
evening of March 12th at Brier Creek Country Club. You won't
want to miss it! See the sign-up info in our latest newsletter;
you will save $5 by reserving your tickets before March 1st.
When your chapter board formed this year, we worked on our
mission and goals for the year. We realized we not only serve
you, our members, but also our community and the greater EWGA
organization. To achieve this we are committed to the following:
Delivering an exciting program of events and services
Providing effective communications
Actively encourage networking within the chapter
Provide value to our sponsors
Actively support LPGA-USGA Girls Golf
Foster retention and growth in our membership
We need your support to have a successful year. Can you spare a
little time to help out on a committee? This is a fun way to
make new friends and get more from your EWGA membership! You
will have an opportunity to sign up at the kickoff or just
email any of the board members. Even an hour a month of your
time would be greatly appreciated!
We also have an opening for a Sponsorship Chair. Sandy Moonert
and I have created a detailed framework and now we are looking
for someone to lead the program, working with the sponsors and
making sure we meet our commitments. Please contact me if you
are interested in helping out we already have several people
working on this, but we need a point person. This person is not
responsible for doing everything just making sure everything
gets done.
Thanks to everyone who has given their time and energy so far to
help us plan out this year. And thanks to you, our loyal
members, for being our friends and golf buddies.
Sincerely,
Kay Murphy
